The Team at Salt Shakers

SALT SHAKERS has a Board which supports and oversees the ministry.

In addition to the Board, a Reference Panel was established in 2006 - the members of the panel provide advice in their area of expertise to Salt Shakers.

Peter and Jenny Stokes started the ministry in 1994 to inform and motivate Christians about current issues and also to understand the Biblical worldview.

They work full time in the office. SALT SHAKERS employs a secretary, a part-time administration assistant and a part time research officer. In addition, a number of volunteers help out in the office.

Resistance Thinking - our project for young people - is run by the young people on staff.

Peter Stokes

Peter Stokes is the Executive Officer of SALT SHAKERS. He and his wife Jenny started SALT SHAKERS in 1994. After fighting against a gambling venue being established in their local shopping centre, they believed God was making them aware of the importance of understanding what was happening in the community. They felt it was important to inform Christians about a range of moral and ethical issues and how Christians should respond from a Biblical perspective.

Peter has worked full time in the ministry since 1995. Prior to that, Peter was a coach driver for day tours in Melbourne. He has also been involved in sales, advertising, radio and is a joiner by trade.

Jenny Stokes

Jenny Stokes is the Research Director at SALT SHAKERS. Jenny and her husband Peter started SALT SHAKERS in 1994. After opposing a gambling venue being established in their local shopping centre, they believed they were led by God to encourage Christians to be informed about a range of moral and ethical issues.

Jenny is a secondary teacher by profession. She has a BA in mathematics and politics. Jenny joined the ministry on a full-time basis in 2001. This has meant the ministry has provided support for them since then. We thank God for His provision for the ministry.
