Queensland passes civil partnerships billThe Queensland parliament voted to pass the Civil Partnerships Bill last night after a four hour debate. The vote was 47 to 40. The Bill also allows heterosexual couples to register a 'civil partnership' - which is a form of 'marriage lite'! Both of these undermine marriage. Queensland Premier Anna Bligh spoke in favour of full same-sex 'marriage' at a rally outside Parliament before the vote!  As expected, all Liberal National Party MPs voted against the Bill - and four Labor MPs voted against it. The four Labor MPs who voted against the Bill are Health Minister Geoff Wilson, Michael Choi, Jo Ann Miller and Margaret Keech. All the Independents voted against the Bill, except Peter Wellington - who voted for it and complained about receiving 'intimidation' to oppose the Bill. Congratulations to all of the MPs who opposed the legal recognition and registration of homosexual relationships.
