Greatest Hoax of the 21st Century?

Further to our post below ALP national conference round-up, please read the Media Release sent from The Hon Rev Fred Nile.

Clearly, as we predicted, the faith shown by some Christians in Mr Rudd's ability to totally control the ALP regarding the creep towards same-sex marriage was naive.

As the Hon Rev Fred Nile rightly states, "The 2009 ALP Conference finally adopted important changes which undermine traditional marriage and open the door for same-sex marriage at a future ALP Conference or future ALP legislation"

The 'rainbow' ALP pro-same 'marriage' lobby adopted a deceptive strategy to confuse the Conference delegates, whereby the existing policy, paragraphs 134 to 137, were not simply amended paragraph by paragraph, but were deleted and replaced with a whole new section, which concealed the basic word changes.'  
Those changes were as we indicated in our last email.  

Rev Nile concludes - This policy change provides an opportunity for the future amendment or repeal of the Commonwealth Marriage Act definition of Marriage, which states, "marriage means the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life"

The Rev Fred Nile MLC, leader of the Christian Democratic Party has rejected the misleading media reports that claim the recent 2009 Federal ALP Conference had continued to uphold traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

"The 2009 ALP Conference finally adopted important changes which undermine traditional marriage and open the door for same-sex marriage at a future ALP Conference or future ALP legislation", said Rev Fred Nile, pro-marriage campaigner.

The 'rainbow' ALP pro-same 'marriage' lobby adopted a deceptive strategy to confuse the Conference delegates, whereby the existing policy, paragraphs 134 to 137, were not simply amended paragraph by paragraph, but were deleted and replaced with a whole new section, which concealed the basic word changes.

Three important changes were made to the Federal ALP Policy Statement.

1.  The statement that the ALP believes "marriage is between a man and a woman" has been deleted.
2. The description "relationship register" has been removed.
3.  The words that future same-sex union "should not mimic marriage" has been removed.

The ALP Conference also voted to support IVF for lesbians.

The Federal ALP motion that was adopted reads:

Amendment 166A - Chapter: 7 - Paragraph: 134-137 Mover: Anthony Albanese - Seconder: Robert McClelland - Delete paragraphs 134-137 and replace with the following:

Labor supports the enactment of legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of a person's sexual orientation or gender status, and the removal of such discrimination from Commonwealth legislation.

Labor believes that people are entitled to respect, equality, dignity and the opportunity to participate in society free of hatred or harassment and receive the protection of the law regardless of their sexuality or gender identity.

Consistent with this belief, in 2007 Labor audited Commonwealth laws to identify discrimination against same sex couples. In 2008, laws were passed to remove discrimination from 84 pieces of Commonwealth legislation.

Labor will ensure that all couples, whether married or de facto, do not suffer discrimination.

Labor will take action to ensure the development of a nationally consistent framework that provides:Labor will review relationship recognition arrangements to ensure national consistency.

Note: These reforms are to be implemented consistently with Labor's commitment to maintaining the definition of marriage as currently set out in the Marriage Act.

"Finally, the ALP under the pressure of the Homosexual Lobby has fallen for the greatest hoax of the 21st century, that homosexual issues are simply a human rights issue and should be treated in the same way a racial issue would.

"Hundreds of homosexuals have by choice changed to the heterosexual lifestyle, so homosexuality is a lifestyle and moral issue, not a human rights issue", stated Rev Fred Nile MLC.
