ALP Platform endorses same-sex 'marriage'It really wasn't a surprise that the ALP National Conference endorsed same-sex 'marriage' at their conference last weekend (3 Dec). Though it was quite deceptive that they DIDN"T take a vote - the motion was carried 'on the voices'. The DEALS were all done beforehand. Julia Gillard decided to opt for a conscience vote - and the Party Platform would endorse same-sex 'marriage'. This is EXACTLY what happened on the issue of abortion back in 1984 - the ALP Platform was changed to include support for abortion whilst individual MPs would be given a conscience vote (click here). Read the E-News we sent out following the vote on Saturday: Read Peter Costello's article about Julia Gillard selling out on her 'promise'... The article highlights how, back in 2007, Kevin Rudd - and the Labor Party - were promoted as being the 'safe alternative' on Christian issues. | |
