28 July 2004 - Two days left to make a submission on the Marriage Legislation Amendment Bill
The Senate Committee is asking for submissions from YOU!
The closing date is 30 July 2004.
The Bill would:
* define marriage as between a man and a woman
* stop same-sex 'marriages' performed overseas being recognised in Australia.
* prevent adoptions of overseas children by same sex couples.
Please support all these in your submission . . .
AND say why relationship rights or 'civil union' status should not be given to same-sex relationships (see ref 5 as below).

The Senate Committee is asking for submissions.
The closing date is 30 July 2004.

* prevent intercountry adoptions by same sex couples.
You need to address these three matters AND also ask the government not to recognise same-sex relationships or grant them 'civil union' status.

6 July 2004 - Make a submission about the Marriage Act!
Labor, the Greens and the Democrats combined to stall the proposed amendment to the Marriage Act that would ensure that marriage was between a man and a woman and that same-sex attracted people could not adopt overseas children. (local adoption is a state issue)
As we face an election within the next six months, this has put before us a clear distinction between these three parties and the Liberal/National Party Coalition, the Christian Democratic Party and Family First on this issue. The latter all support the amendments proposed by John Howard.
NOW IT IS YOUR TURN to have a say . . .
The Senate has called for submissions (these can simply be a short letter)
They are asking for your input - PLEASE give them the clear message that you support marriage STAYING exclusively as a relationship between a male and a female.
WE must also state that we do NOT accept any form of legal recognition for same-sex relationships or adoption rights.
Submissions close on July 30.

6 July 2004 – The ‘L’ Word on TV
The campaign of writing to advertisers about their ads appearing on 'The L Word' has been very successful.
Over the fourteen episodes (series is now finished) TWENTY-SIX companies wrote and said they had asked Channel 7 or their media agencies not to put their ads on the L Word. EIGHTEEN companies said the same about 'There's Something about Miriam' on Ch 10.
Media agencies have had to discuss scheduling with the companies and the TV station has had fewer and fewer ads to place. In the last couple of weeks hey even had Club X and phone sex ads!
