Euthanasia and lesbian birth parents

We've sent two media releases this past week about issues of concern:

Tasmania: Lesbian Birth Parents

One about the legislation that is in the Tasmanian Parliament that would allow the lesbian partner of a lesbian birth mother to be recorded on the child's birth certificate as the parent of the child.

The name of the father of the child will not be recorded!

The Bill passed the Tasmanian House of Assembly last month - it will go to the Legislative Council in OCTOBER 2009.

SA: Euthanasia Bill

A euthanasia bill is currently before the South Australian parliament.

Of particular concern is the fact that a group of Christians have set up an organisation calling for euthanasia to be legalised.
