Multiculturalism has failed

Yes, we have been saying for a long time that 'multiculturalism' is a flawed policy and that it has failed.

Now German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said multiculturalism has failed.

"We kidded ourselves for a while," Chancellor Merkel said, but now it was clear that the attempt to build a society where people of very different languages and cultures could "live side-by-side" and "enjoy each other" has "failed, utterly failed."

Of course, we are not talking of the immigration of migrants from Europe and elsewhere into Australia or America and encouraging them to integrate and become 'Australian'.

The modern multicultural cult, as Thomas Sowell calls it in a recent article, is all about establishing separate cultures within our society rather than integrating people into being 'Australian' or "German' or 'American' and so on...
He says that previous immigrants were "absorbed in ways that were the direct opposite of what the multicultural cult is recommending today."
