Is there any difference? With the NSW election on Saturday 26 March, the Liberals are gaining in their lead on the ruling Labor Party. However, on the homosexual issue, there seems to be little difference between them. Last year, both the Liberals Barry O'Farrell and Labor Premier supported the relationships Register fro homosexuals. Premier Keneally is somewhat unclear on her view of same-sex 'marriage (but appears sympathetic) whilst Barry O'Farrell opposes it - that might be one difference! The Labor government has financially supported the 'Sydney gay and lesbian mardi gras'. Not to be outdone, the Liberal Opposition has just announced they too will ensure that the mardi gras has ongoing funding if they win office!
