Parliament update

Various issues currently in our state and federal parliaments...

Tasmania - Surrogacy

The Tasmanian lower house has passed the Surrogacy Bill - which will allow heterosexual couples, homosexual couples and single women to have surrogacy (as well as using IVF for that purpose.)

The Bill will probably go to the Legislative Council in early May - if you live in Tasmania please contact your Legislative Council Member and ask them to totally oppose this Bill.

WA - Prostitution

The WA government is continuing to push for changes to prostitution which would legalise brothels.
Please contact your MPs to ask them to vote against any legalisation of brothels.

South Australia - medical defence - linked to euthanasia

A Bill has been put by Labor MP Steph Key - on the surface it offers doctors a 'defence' if a patient dies from an 'increase' in medication... However the Bill is being pushed by those who are supporting euthanasia - and is the 'thin edge f the wedge. We oppose this Bill.
If you live in SA, please contact your MPs and ask them to vote against this Bill when it is next debated in early May.

Federal - marriage

Same-sex 'marriage' is an ongoing issue. A Bill passed by the House of Representatives asked all MPs to 'seek the views of their constituents'... so it is important that we contact our MP in the House of Representatives, the leaders of the political parties and our 12 State Senators to tell them that we oppose same-sex 'marriage' since marriage is between a man and a woman
