1. Brazil - same-sex 'marriage'

Brazil's Supreme Court has just decided to allow a homosexual couple to 'marry. On May 5, 2011, Brazil's Supreme Court ruled that homosexual couples could form and register a 'civil union'. However one couple said, 'that wasn't enough' and asked the Supreme Court to issue a marriage license for them to 'marry'.
In agreeing to that request, the judge cited the May 5 decision on civil unions - and also a UN Human Rights Council resolution (passed 17 June, 2011) that spoke of rights based on sexual orientation (read report of the resolution - search on 'orientation').

2. Classification of computer games

An online survey is being conducted to gauge the opinion of the public about allowing R18+ rated computer games in Australia. The Attorneys-General have issued Draft Guidelines and will consider the issue at their July meeting.

3. Euthanasia

One of their members, a minister called Craig de Vos, appeared in the Adelaide newspaper this week supporting the legalisation of euthanasia - he even ran as a candidate for the group in the last SA election! Not surprisingly, perhaps, he is also part of a group called 'Christians for same-sex marriage'! Read more about him - click here.
