URGENT ACTION REQUIRED
The federal government has now introduced legislation to allow embryo stem cell research. For full details, information and articles (cut)

It will be debated SOON. It is VITAL that we ALL contact our federal MP and Senators NOW!!!

The federal government met with the State Premiers to discuss the issue of stem cell research on 5 April at the Council of Australian Government meeting (COAG). The Prime Minister announced on 4 April that he will support 'limited' use of 'excess' embryos from IVF programs to create stem cells for research. (cut)

This legislation allows the use of "surplus" IVF embryos for research that will destroy them.
