Writing a 'Letter to the Editor'

Letters to the Editor need to be relevant - they need to address current issues.

Writing about a current issue or writing in response to an article or a printed letter means your letter will be more likely to be published.

Some things to remember:

• know your subject
• believe that God has the answer to the issue BUT don't preach - discuss
• talk about a current issue
• be brief
• give your name
• respond quickly

* Keep your letter to UNDER 200 words.
* Don't drift onto another topic.
* Use humour if appropriate.
* Send your letter by email (email addresses for newspapers' letters editors are listed with the Newspaper links).
