Queensland has one House of Parliament, the Legislative Assembly.
Voters have one representative in the Legislative Assembly.
There are 89 Members in the Legislative Assembly and elections are held at least every three years.
The government

"QUEENSLAND'S Liberal National Party is in turmoil after its leader and deputy leader quit following an announcement that Brisbane's mayor would challenge for the leadership. Opposition Leader John-Paul Langbroek made his shock announcement shortly after Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman said he planned to run for state politics and seek the leadership of the LNP, before he even became an MP. Deputy leader Lawrence Springborg also announced he would be standing aside, temporarily leaving the LNP without a leader or deputy leader. . . "
The Labor Party has 51 Members, the Liberal National Party has 34 Members and there are four Independents.
